THE DETAILS
Hands-on cooking parties provide an interactive and fun activity for celebrating birthdays and showers as well as an ideal way for business colleagues to bond outside of
work.
We
run fully hands-on cooking parties and pride ourselves on teaching students how
to cook from start to finish; nary an onion is peeled before we begin. A better
sense of satisfaction and greater learning (and fun!) comes from creating a meal
in its entirety. Larger, more formal schools will pre-prepare most of the meal
and have you participate in cooking a fraction of it; we do not.
"IS MY KITCHEN BIG ENOUGH?"
As long as you can put a cutting board down (in the kitchen or on the dining room table) as many times as there are students, you can comfortably learn to cook in your home kitchen.
LOCATION
We
are happy to come to any home kitchen in the New York City
area (Brooklyn and
Queens included). We can also travel beyond the boroughs. Traveling fees
(to New Jersey, Long Island, Westchester or beyond) are $60/hour roundtrip from
Manhattan plus transportation costs (bus, train, or tolls). If you have 8
or more people, your traveling fee will be waived.
CULINARY
STUDIO RENTALS
For those without kitchen space to spare for a large cooking party, Home Cooking will book a fully-equipped culinary studio for your event (available in
Chelsea, Greenwich Village, West 30s, and Boerum Hill, Brooklyn).
